This well-known dolmen was built in the 16th century and is a protected heritage site in the Vendée region. The famous and mysterious Dolmen known as La Pierre Levée de Soubise is just a stone’s throw from the town center. For all music and festival fans, Brétignolles sur Mer hosts the 7th Wave festival during the Ascension weekend: your campsite is very close to this meeting place.
Every year in April, the town of Brétignolles sur Mer also plays host to the stars of the surfing world at a professional surfing world championship event. This qualifying event takes place at the famous Sauzaie spot: the ” Protest Vendée pro “.
The Vendée department offers a multitude of cycle paths, allowing you to enjoy Brétignolles sur Mer and the surrounding area in an environmentally-friendly way.
You can also enjoy sightseeing and gastronomic escapades, by car or on foot.
Just a 10-minute drive from the campsite, Lac du Jaunay on the shores of Landevieille is the perfect place for a nature outing. The 114-hectare lake borders several Vendée communes, including L’Aiguillon sur Vie. There’s no shortage of outdoor activities to enjoy with family and friends.
The lake is renowned for its fishing, but also for its many water sports, such as kayaking, paddling and pedal-boating. This peaceful, natural setting also offers the chance to observe numerous plant and animal species.
