Nestling in the heart of the Côte des Lumières between Les Sables d’Olonne and Talmont Saint Hilaire on the departmental road 949 (GPS: N: 46,477; W:1,667), the Musée de l’Automobile de Vendée is first and foremost a family story: that of the GIRON family, who for over 75 years have been collecting, restoring and maintaining cars, 2-wheelers and all kinds of accessories linked to historic vehicles, for the pleasure of preserving our heritage.
More than 150 vehicles are presented to the public in a 3,300 m² hall, with a wealth of explanations, posters, mannequins and period accessories.
A cornerstone of tourism in the Pays des Olonnes, the Musée de l’Auto de Vendée is well worth a visit for its rich collections, which continue to expand over the years.
